Friday Five | Skincare Favorites

I have had pretty good skin my whole life, so taking care of my skin was not something I thought about for a long time. I finally started thinking about it when I got to college. I got really serious about it a few years as I entered my mid-twenties. Ever since, I have been obsessed with finding products that work for my skin and make me feel confident in that no make-up glow. I have tried a lot of things, but there are a few products I always fall back on. I wanted to share those today!

I do want to disclaim that everyone has a different skin type and issues. What works for me, may not work for you. What you love, may not work for me. And that is OK! This is just what I love and works for me 🙂

Clinque Take Off the Day Cleansing Oil. I have probably been using this product longer than anything on this list. When I first started getting into skincare Clinque was my go to brand, because I really didn’t know much else. At first it was all I would use. One of the products that has survived from that time, us their Take Off the Day Cleansing Oil. It does an amazing job of getting off all of my make-up and making my skin feel squeaky clean. I use this stuff every day as a part of my night time skincare routine!

Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream. I probably started using eye creams a lot early than most people. I have always had slightly puffy under eyes and dark circles. I had to get control of that ASAP. I have gone through many an eye cream. Whenever I can, I have gotten a travel size so I can try it out for an adequate amount of time, while not having to buy the full size. One of my favorites I have found is this one. It is made even better by the fact that it is made with natural ingredients.

Clarisonic Facial Cleansing Brush. I got my Clarisonic brush almost a year and a half ago as a Valentine’s Day gift and have never looked back. I use this every morning and night as a part of my skincare routine and love it. I feel like my skin is so clean and dead skin has been cleared away after using it. It is a bit pricey, but you can find deals on it from time to time. I actually got mine at Costco!

Lancome Comforting Toner with Acacia Honey. For a long time, I had no idea what toner actually did even though I used it every day. lol. Once I realized what it was supposed to do, I figured out the original one I was using wasn’t being as effective as it could be. I tried a few different options before finally landing on this one. I love that it is effective, while still being gentle. It does have alcohol in it, so if you are sensitive to that it may not be for you.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. This is another old school product for me. I think I have been using it almost as long as the cleansing oil. I originally got this as an impulse purchase while checking out to buy something else. I used to have super dry skin and thought it may help with that. It ended up being something that has stayed in my lineup for close to five years. My skin isn’t as dry as it once was and I still love this product to this day!

I absolutely love skincare. It is one of my favorite things to research and test out. I am thinking about doing a full skincare routine post soon. Is that something you would be into? Until next time, friends… CML
