New York Trip, Part 4: New York, New York

New York Trip, Part 4: New York, New York

So… I never got to finish this series because my move got in the way. But hey, better late than never, right? I am so excited to share the grand finale, the big shebang, the final countdown to this series that I started I couple months ago.  If you want to re-read those, her is Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 at your easy linked convenience.

If you couldn’t tell, I absolutely LOVED my time in New York a while back. Now that some time has passed, I am itching to go back to this beautiful city. I have never been the type of person that dreams about moving to New York, but after this trip I could definitely see the attraction and would be lying if the thought of a move to the Big Apple didn’t cross my mind. So let’s dive into the things that made me have a slight change in opinion and a couple of my favorite things I did while I was there…

New York Trip, Part 3: When Ya Just Gotta Get Out of the City

New York Trip, Part 3: When Ya Just Gotta Get Out of the City

Don’t get me wrong, I love New York, but sometimes you just gotta get out and smell the roses outside of the city. The friend I stayed with during my trip to New York actually lives about an hour outside of the city, which means she has a car. This was awesome because we were able to explore the area surrounding the city for a couple of days. For some reason I never realized how beautiful New England was until I explored it on this trip. So here are some of my favorite things that I did.

New York Trip, Part 2: Packing and Preparation

New York Trip, Part 2: Packing and Preparation

If there is one thing I do consistently when planning for a trip, it is research. I do as much research on a city as I can before I actually leave for the trip. Some would say this takes the spontaneity out of travel, but I would rather have a plan than be spontaneous. At least I accept and own that I am a planner. So how did I plan for a city that has so much to offer?

New York Trip, Part 1: Travel, Travel, Travel

New York Trip, Part 1: Travel, Travel, Travel

I have loved all of my recent travels, but my trip to New York was one that I was especially excited for. I hadn’t been to the city in years and never as an adult who got to actually decide what I wanted to see and what I wanted to do. Even though I have never had some crazy desire to live in New York like some do, it’s hard to deny the draw of such a spectacular city.

Music City U.S.A. and a Tourist

Music City U.S.A. and a Tourist

One of the greatest gifts my move to Memphis gave me, was the ability to travel to some many places without having to get on a plane. Being from California, you can drive for nine hours and still be in the same state. Now I can drive twenty minutes in one direction or twenty minutes in another direction and be in two different states. And I am so close to so many cities. Three hours from Nashville. Three and a half hours from Birmingham. Four hours from St. Louis. five hours from Atlanta. Six hours from New Orleans and the list goes on. By far one of my favorite places to visit is Nashville. The vibe of the city is beyond amazing and there is so much to do. today I decided to talk about some of my favorite things to do in the city.

Milwaukee in A Few Hours

Milwaukee in A Few Hours

Recently I visited a place I can’t say I ever thought I would visit… Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My job requires that I travel on a very regular basis and to a lot of places I would not normally  go, including Milwaukee. And while I was not excited for the very cold temperatures that are normally associated with Wisconsin, I ended up LOVING my time in the city. Plus I packed a lot of stuff into like 4 hours of inconsecutive free time…

With Love from Boston

With Love from Boston

There are exactly two cities I have visited and instantly felt like this is a place I could realistically call home. The first is Seattle (shocking, I know) and the second is Boston. Much like Seattle, I don’t know what it is specifically about Boston that I fell in love with. Maybe it’s the history. Maybe it’s the pride residents have in their city. Maybe it’s the endless food choices. But most likely it’s a combination of a bunch of little things. I am by no means a Boston expert, but I can still share my awesome experiences with y’all!

A Quick Trip to Steel City

A Quick Trip to Steel City

One of my favorite parts of my job is that I am able to travel so much. Whenever I go somewhere I have never been before and am able to, I will try to spend a little extra time in the city. As a result, I have been able to visit some pretty cool places. Recently, I visited Pittsburgh for the first time.

A Long Weekend in Seattle

A Long Weekend in Seattle

If you couldn’t already tell, I am a little obsessed with the city of Seattle. I laid out some of my favorite things about the city in my last post, which you can fine here. I figured this week I could get a little more specific and give you my guide to a long weekend in Seattle. Lastly, I strongly recommend getting the Seattle City Pass if this is your first time going to the city and plan to follow this guide. It saves you a ton of money and gives you admission to some great activities!
