This is one of the first audiobooks I have ever listened to. I had started reading the book when I friend told me the audiobook was a great way to take in the book. I decided to download the audiobook and am so happy I did. Being able to listen to Trevor Noah tell the stories included in the book was absolutely amazing and brought so much to the stories.
Last week I shared a list of things to watch that illustrate many of the issues that have been brought into full view in the past few weeks. This week I am focusing on things to read. Because it takes a lot longer to read a book, rather than watch something, I have yet to read many of the things on this list, though I hope to. Again, this is by no means an exhaustive list of books or articles or blogs to read. Rather, it is the list of things to read that I have found so far.
A few years back, I read Me Before You then saw the movie and absolutely loved them both. Then Me After You came out and I read that as well. They are fun lighthearted books that hit all of the emotions while you are reading them. I was hoping JoJo would write a third installment to the series, so I was so excited when I saw this book a couple months back. As soon as I saw it on Amazon, I ordered it right away!
Welcome to another book review, lol. This is a book that I have had on the shelf for a while. It is one that I have started and stopped a couple of times and finally committed to finishing it. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the book or that I thought it wasn’t interesting, I always just got distracted, put the book down and never quite picked it back up. I am so glad I finally got through it though!
When I started reading this book, I was almost instantly hooked. I loved the development of the plot, the characters and the messages that were being portrayed. It was such a refreshingly wonderful read.
After getting through the Harry Potter series, I really wanted to read something light and maybe a little silly and girly. I have come to love Debbie Macomber books for just this time. Her books are easy reads, with interesting story lines and are just a little bit cheesy. I say all of this in the most loving way possible. Up this week is Window by the Bay.
One of my resolutions that I have been taking really seriously this year is to read more often. I will go through phases where I read a book every couple days then don’t read a thing for two months. I am trying to get a bit more consistent with my reading. One of the hardest things for me at time is finding interesting books that I actually like. I figure this is probably a common problem for readers like me, so I want to write reviews for the books I do read. I do this in the hopes that someone can find an interesting read they may not have otherwise. Let’s jump into the first review!
Hello again, friends. 2019 is set to be a pretty big year for me. I am getting married. It is the first full year in my job. An exciting trip to the east coast (full disclosure its my honeymoon). And, I am guessing, many fun surprises along the way. Over all, my hope for 2019 is to make small changes that help enhance the things I love in my life and love to do, while decreasing the things that are not good for me and hurting me in the long term. So, lets talk about the goals that will hopefully help make that happen.
Happy Friday everyone! Are you excited for the weekend? I know I am. I have a lot of great posts planned for the next couple of weeks, but I kept thinking of these little random things that I wanted to share. They didn’t really have a place in any of my other posts and couldn’t really stand alone as their own posts. Then I realized, I have these little random thoughts pretty frequently. My brain is filled with little thoughts that could be parts of different blog posts.
Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, but I don’t always read as much as I would like. Luckily I have been able to make more time for it recently than I have in the past. I should also say, that I have been on a kick lately of reading books that are being turned into or have been turned into movies or TV shows.
