I have to admit that one of my favorite parts of the planning process was actually planning our honeymoon. Don’t get me wrong, I loved planning the wedding but it was just different. There were times when it feels like you are planning the wedding for other people. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc. all have expectations of what your wedding will be. And realistically, they are all coming to this event for you, so it is kind to keep them in mind when planning. But, the honeymoon. The honeymoon is different. The honeymoon is truly just for you and your special someone. I love traveling in general, so this was even more fun.
I know. My trip to Boston (evidenced by my Instagram) was a long time ago (like almost two years ago, eek) and I am just now getting around to talking about it. Well, I really don’t have any excuses other than my life got real busy right after this trip and I put off writing about it. But I loved this trip so much so I am still going to write about it. As I started writing this post, everything came rushing back to me and I have so much to say. So… I am breaking up this post into three different posts or it would be WAY to long!
I realize that I have not posted in the past couple of months, but I would like to think it was for good reason. I decided at the beginning of this year that I wanted to make the blog a priority, but I also wanted to give myself the grace to not post when the situation warranted. Well, the situation warranted about three months ago. So lets time travel back to February of 2019 and talk about the past few months.
I talk a lot about the places I have been and the places that I plan to go in a period of time, but I have never talked about what my ultimate travel goals are. I love traveling the United States and seeing all that our country has to offer. I talked more about this in this post (check it out here!). In fact a goal of mine is to visit all 50 states by the time I am 35 (that was originally 30, but life). But, I obviously also want to see countries and cultures outside of my own. I have another goal to visit five new countries in five years!
Everyone talks about Seattle summers. About the perfect weather and sunny blue skies. The perfect days on the lake; boating, swimming and paddle boarding. Basking in the sun while laying in the grass of a luscious park. Don’t get me wrong, that is all great. I love going on long walks along Lake Washington and watching the sunset from Alki Beach.
Hello there! I hope your week has been awesome! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I am a little bit of a tired panda today. I was on a work trip for most of the week. The days were long and required a lot of moving furniture, hanging pictures and target runs. Any guesses on what I am doing for my job these days?
Happy Friday everyone! Are you excited for the weekend? I know I am. I have a lot of great posts planned for the next couple of weeks, but I kept thinking of these little random things that I wanted to share. They didn’t really have a place in any of my other posts and couldn’t really stand alone as their own posts. Then I realized, I have these little random thoughts pretty frequently. My brain is filled with little thoughts that could be parts of different blog posts.
I recently started thinking about why it is that I have come to love travel so much. When I was writing my fall travel plans post last week (check it out here), I got so excited. I started doing research on all of the new cities I would be visiting; where to eat, what to do, how to get around, etc. All of this research and excitement for this fall got me thinking about why it is that I like to travel so much.
I have a busy, busy, busy fall ahead of me! I will be traveling to different states (and timezones) on a pretty regular basis and honestly I am so excited. In my old job at this company, I traveled all the time and loved it. When I got my last job in Seattle and moved out here, my job no longer involved any form of travel. I didn’t realize how much I was going to miss the hustle and bustle of a busy travel life. Now that I am back with my old company and in a new job, I am going to be traveling more again (yay!). Beyond that, I now have a certified travel buddy and we both like exploring new places! So here is what my travel schedule is looking like for the rest of the year! If you have any suggestions on place to eat, things to see or things to do, leave a comment down below!
