One of my favorite things about Seattle from the first time I visited, is all of the amazing restaurants. Regardless of budget or food preferences, you can find something delicious to eat in this city. Exploring the city’s restaurants is one of my favorite things to do with Riley. He has this wonderful ability to find amazing food no matter where we go. I thought I would share a couple of my favorite places in the city that are still open for business during the pandemic!
Nue. This has been a favorite of Riley and I’s favorites for a few years now. Their concept is world street food. They have food that is inspired by places all over the world from South African to Jamaica to Trinidad. Their food is absolutely amazing and so full of flavor. I have never tried something that I didn’t like and devour in minutes. Lol. Some favorites of ours are pineapple cornbread, South African bunny chow, Trinidadian Channa Curry. The environment is fun and festive, filled to the brim with travel treasures. I swear I discover something new every time I visit. The staff is incredibly efficient and friendly.
Nue is currently offering dine-in patio eating, delivery, contactless pick up and a food delivery service.
Momiji. A favorite of mine since before I even moved to Seattle. The food at Momiji is the freshest of fresh and artfully made. They are known for their amazing sushi, but also have a variety of other Japanese food. I have tried a lot of different items and have honestly loved every single item I have ever tried. Some favorites are the tempura, miso, Capitol Hill roll and caterpillar roll. They also offer impeccable service. So kind and polite, not over bearing and incredibly efficient. They are my absolute favorite sushi place in the area.
Momiji is currently offering dine-in eating, take out and delivery.
8 oz. Burger. If you are looking for a mouth-watering burger in Seattle, look no further. The environment is super casual and so fun. They are located on the main strip in the Ballard neighborhood and the environment matches the vibe of the neighborhood. Of all the places on the list, this is also the most family friendly restaurant! All of their burgers are interesting and so much more thoughtful than your standard burger. The flavors are inventive and so well thought out. All of the burgers are amazing but my favorite is probably the 8 oz burger. They also have great fries.
8 oz. Burger is currently open for take out and delivery.
Arthurs. I used to live in West Seattle and this was one of our favorite finds. It is one of the best brunch spots in the area. The decor was, honestly what first drew me in. It was so light and airy, had plants artfully placed around and was just all around designed with a very particular vibe in mind. Once we ate here for the first time, we were hooked. The have a variety of egg Benedicts, an amazing avocado toast and a couple of scrambles/hashes that are all delicious. I look forward to going here whenever we make it to West Seattle. They also have a great wait staff that is friendly and helpful.
Arthurs is currently open for outdoor dinning and take out.
Itto’s Tapas. Last but certainly not least. This is another favorite from before I ever moved to Seattle. A friend that lived in the city introduced me to this place and I was immediately hooked. It is a fairly small restaurant, but is so cozy. When you dine here, it truly feels like you are transported into this unique experience. They offer fairly traditional tapas (from what I can tell), all of which are delicious. Some favorites of ours are the tortilla espanola, croquettes, Spanish paella, and the berbere burger. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
Itto’s is currently open for socially distanced dining, takeout and deliver.
Seattle has so many amazing restaurants and, obviously, these are only a few. I want to provide more recommendations in the future. Maybe by neighborhood? We will see! Until next time, friends… CML
